The man that Sean Taylor, the designer behind menswear label Billy Aloha (billyaloha.com), designs for “definitely has a bit of boldness to how he dresses with bright colors and edginess,” he says. “I wouldn’t say he’s the peacock in the room, but he’s not far away from it.” Taylor hails from Australia’s Central Coast and lived in Los Angeles prior to calling Maui home, and these disparate influences are what inform his rock ’n’ roll-meets-tropical aesthetic.
Stop by his pop-up space at the Andaz Maui at Wailea Resort to pick up elevated resortwear with a touch of Aussie grunge and animal print. His pieces give a nod to cabana culture, and are designed to transition easily from the pool to the bar. The spring/summer 2021 collection is the most curated season yet, with new silhouettes like long-sleeved and bowling-style button-up shirts and lounge pants in beautiful, luxurious linens, while fall/winter will embrace a bold new print.
