Maui-based creatives Perri Ricci and Nickoel Martyn envisioned a place to showcase other local artists and makers from the islands at their new brick-and-mortar, The Monarch Collective. The chic boutique opened in Makawao, the picturesque town in Upcountry Maui quickly earning a reputation as a shopping destination.
Ricci is the designer behind Puka Perri, the incredibly luxe take on island jewelry known for its puka shell and Tahitian pearl pieces, while Martyn runs Taurus Moon, a stylish jewelry line with delicate, textured baubles featuring natural crystals. Together, they assembled a collective of the hottest brands in the islands with the intent of showing the process and inspiration behind each maker.
We love Cobalt & Tawny’s boho-luxe resortwear, where flowy skirts mix with vintage-style button-ups in tropical prints. Pick up eye-catching swimmers from Pearl Swimwear or earthy separates from Marina & Co. For the home, Carla Gangini’s dreamy oil paintings and the decadent, hand-dyed silk bedding by Sueno are real standouts. 3682 Baldwin Ave., Makawao, 727-2057, monarchcollectivemaui.com
