THE PARTY Leave it to Tom Park of Leather Soul, Honolulu’s sophisticated emporium of men’s shoes, to throw a special trunk show by coveted all-American brand Alden of New England with representative Steve Reinhart. THE GUESTS Like all Leather Soul festivities, the night brought out some of Honolulu’s most stylish gents. Spotted were Brad Nicolai of JN Automotive; Dusty Grable and Jesse Cruz, the culinary masterminds behind Livestock Tavern and Lucky Belly; leading attorneys George Hetherington, Richard Ing and Rick Fried; and Dr. Jason Chang. THE HIGHLIGHTS To truly raise the taste level, Park turned to leading chef Chris Kajioka and barman extraordinaire Justin Park (no relation), who provided an exceptional array of bites and handcrafted cocktails. Additional tastings were presented by Kyle Reutner of KoHana Rum and Brian Concagh of Beam Suntory, who presented selected whiskeys. Of course, the toasts had to come after the special test-drives of Lamborghini, Bentley and other top-of-the-line vehicles from JN Exotics. –Photos by Tracy Chan
