Raise a glass to Maui’s Montage Kapalua Bay, which presents the Champagne Hale at Cliff House featuring Veuve Clicquot. Swathed in blushing sunsets, the sparkling pop-up at the resort’s private event space—a holdover of the historic Honolua Plantation perched on a craggy outcropping of Nāmalu Bay—is the only venue in Hawai‘i with distribution privileges to serve Veuve Clicquot Rich, the house’s latest bubbly. With the versatile, mixology-inspired spirit giving classic Champagne a cocktail twist, there’s plenty to toast, starting with an assortment of Veuve Clicquot available by the glass ($28 to $65) and by the bottle ($138 to $525). Those inclined to customize will find Veuve Clicquot flights featuring 2-ounce pours of Yellow Label ($11), Rosé ($15) and La Grande Dame ($26), along with libations like the Signature Rich Cocktail ($35). The selection of small bites range from tuna poke ($25) to osetra caviar ($175). “The historic Cliff House is beloved on the island,” says Richard Holtzman, managing director and vice president of Montage Kapalua Bay. “Creating the Champagne Hale allows us to offer new programs and amenities, and another location to see the beauty of Maui while now enjoying a refreshing cocktail.” We’ll drink to that!
