THE PARTY While the first few films of this year’s Rainbow Film Festival had already been shown, hundreds turned out for a truly fabulous celebration at Honolulu Museum of Art’s Doris Duke Theatre. Among the special guests who flew in for the occasion were Alex Newell of television juggernaut Glee, writer and actor David W. Ross, actor Cameron Stuart and Grammy-winning songwriter Desmond Child. THE PLAYERS Rainbow Film Festival director Brent Anbe, Jack Law, Hawai‘i International Film Festival Executive Director Chuck Boller, Honolulu Gay & Lesbian Cultural Foundation President Richard Reese, Daniel Chun THE HIGHLIGHTS From a welcome by Gov. Neil Abercrombie to a rockin’ performance by GJ & Izik, the night was action-packed. While DJ Globes’ tunes pumped over the courtyard, guests feasted on bites from the likes of Andrew Le’s popular pop-up eatery The Pig and the Lady. Afterward, attendees packed the theater to watch the Hawai‘i debut of director Darren Stein’s flick G.B.F. Photography by Tracy Chan
