It was just a year ago when Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort celebrated the grand opening of its $80 million transformation, inviting guests to relax in completely renovated guest rooms and suites, be entertained at the reimagined Kani Ka Pila Grille (home of Waikīkī’s best live Hawaiian music) and enjoy the resort’s brand-new A‘o Cultural Center and Herb Kāne Lounge, which connects visitors with local Hawai‘i culture through programming from the Polynesian Voyaging Society and artwork by local artists including Kamea Hadar and original masterpieces by legendary artist Herb Kāne.

A year later, the resort unveils its newest addition to its luxury lineup, the Coral Reef Penthouse. Located on the top floor of the Diamond Head Tower, the penthouse is a sight to behold with its majestic views of Diamond Head, stunning panoramic views of the glistening ocean and the nearby Waikīkī skyline. As soon as guests enter the penthouse, they are enveloped in the luxurious atmosphere, complete with a fully equipped kitchen, spacious living and dining areas, and two primary bedrooms.
With a focus on wellness, the Diamond Head Tower now features a new, exclusive Wellness Wing, providing guests with a state-of-the-art fitness center and a few treatment rooms. The tranquil atmosphere of the center is perfect for relaxation and rejuvenation, allowing guests to escape the hustle and bustle of Waikīkī and reconnect with themselves.

Also housed in the Wellness Wing is the brandnew Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman, led by culinary pioneer and Hawai‘i regional cuisine founder chef Peter Merriman. This restaurant is the perfect spot to enjoy Hawaiian cuisine with a modern twist. From fresh Kualoa Ranch oysters and Big Island goat cheese bruschetta to its famous mai tai and signature liliko‘i foam, Monkeypod offers an array of flavorful dishes and drinks. The restaurant also features an outdoor patio, where guests can relax and take in the spectacular views of the golden sands of Waikīkī Beach.
“Dining at Monkeypod Kitchen is a culinary exploration rich in culture, quality and fun,” says Merriman. “We look forward to sharing the bounty of Hawai‘i’s ranchers, farmers and fishers on the beach in Waikīkī and providing a sublime space for kama‘āina and visitors alike to reconnect with friends and family while celebrating the craft of food, drink and merrimaking, with aloha.”
With its new Coral Reef Penthouse, wellness center and Monkeypod restaurant, guests can enjoy all the comforts of home while exploring all that Waikīkī has to offer. Whether it’s lounging in the sun on the beach or indulging in some pampering in the wellness center, there are plenty of ways to relax and enjoy a stay at the Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort. outrigger.com/hawaii/oahu/outrigger-reef-waikiki-beach-resort
