Leave it to Hermès to transform The Royal Hawaiian into a gorgeous fantasy of a playground for its recent Bal de Soie (Silk Ball). On the oceanfront lawn, guests entered a mirrored maze festooned with the house’s signature silk scarves, emerging to a spectacular view of Diamond Head. It was only one of several wonders to come, from gorgeous masks to magnificently costumed performers, including a dapper horse. But perhaps one of the soiree’s most fabulous moments came when two troupes of dancers attempted to out-vogue each other to the fun throwback tunes spun by DJ Eloise.
