Making its mark on the iconic corner of Kūhiō and Nāmāhana Avenue in Waikīkī is Favorite Son, an exciting new neighborhood eatery at Romer Waikīkī at The Ambassador crafted by TableOne Hospitality.

“Every time I see the iconic Ambassador marquee (illuminated in the 1960s), I am reminded of the legends that created the legacy that is Waikiki,” says Kelly Sanders, president of Highgate Hawai‘i. “More than iconic landmarks, Waikīkī Beach was about friendships, culture, sports, smiles and enjoying time together. And that is the vision for this restaurant, Favorite Son… enjoy each other, share food that makes you happy, create favorite memories that will become part of your own legacy.”
The space features an inviting open-air courtyard overlooking King Kalākaua Park, creating the perfect backdrop for everything from morning coffee runs to sunset dinners. Its menu strikes a delightful balance between familiar comfort and culinary innovation. Diners can expect rustic protein bowls, toasted hoagies perfect for beach days, farm-fresh salads, and their signature savory-square-pie-pizzas. The retro-modern cocktail program pays homage to classic recipes while incorporating local influences.
“With Favorite Son, we wanted to create a gathering place where neighbors feel at home and guests feel like neighbors,” says Patric Yumul, CEO of TableOne Hospitality. “A place where everyone is welcome, whether you are sunkissed from the ocean, having a date night or gathering for a boozy brunch. We are excited to continue serving the amazing community and look forward to being part of this iconic hotel.” romerhotels.com/waikiki-ambassador/favorite-son
