Once deemed “Pineapple Island” and known decades ago for cultivating nearly 75% of the world’s pineapples, the island of Lanai since traded its agriculture roots for luxury developments and resorts. But the Four Seasons Resort Lanai seeks to honor the Island’s rich pineapple heritage, offering spirited sips and cool bites infused with the fruit’s sweet flavor profiles. Here, a few of our favorite spins and creations. The E Komo Mai welcome drink, served to guests upon arrival, is concocted of pineapple, lime and kiwi juice, topped with a slice of jalapeno and garnished with Li Hing powder on the rim for a spicy but refreshing kick. One of the Four Seasons’ bartenders, “Ant,” puts his spin on the traditional mai tai, incorporating none other than refreshing pineapple as the main ingredient. And, if you’re looking to satisfy a sweet tooth, the hotel’s artisanal pineapple coconut ice cream, crafted by the resort’s pastry chef, Hafiz Razali, certainly does the trick. We’re definitely pining after these sips. 1 Manele Road, Lanai City, 565.2000
