On October 20, The Hawai’i Food and Wine Festival attendees will stroll around the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel lawn, tasting dishes from 10 renowned chefs from Turtle Island tribes such as Oglala Lakota, Kickapoo, and Puyallup, as well as nations in the Caribbean and Pacific, including Maori, Samoan, and Hawaiian.
Along with noshing on dishes unique to each chef’s heritage, guests will also enjoy wines, craft cocktails and brews. On day two, an Indigenous Food Culture Panel will be held where guests can listen to and engage in discussions with industry professionals about the importance of Indigenous food and cooking traditions, as well as the way it brings communities together. hawaiifoodandwinefestival.com
