DRESS Recently opened in the Royal Hawaiian Center, Saint Laurent’s new storefront—its second in Hawai‘i—reads like modern art. From the mirror-polished stainless-steel and Bateig Azul limestone exterior to the white statuario and black marble floors and walls, it is the picture of elegance—much like house founder Yves Saint Laurent himself. Within its two stories is a treasure trove of minimalist style, including men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, leather goods, shoes, jewelry and sunglasses. Among the fashion standouts, don’t miss the reclaimed wooden benches, which were constructed from past Saint Laurent runways. 2201 Kalakaua Ave., Honolulu
A guest room at Waikiki Beachcomber by Outrigg er with ocean views
STAY Dubbed Hawai‘i’s first and only “craft hotel,” Waikiki Beachcomber by Outrigger is already turning heads. With modern Waikiki as their muse, 12 local artists and influencers, including Abigail Romanchak, Margo Ray and Marques Hanalei Marzan, curated a stunning original exhibition of artwork through Beachcomber Originals, and with it introduced a new genre of hotel. Featuring large-scale works from underwater surf photographer Zak Noyle, which can be experienced to the melodic tunes of a custom soundtrack by Makana, the installation is unlike any other. Beyond the artful initiatives, Waikiki Beachcomber is home to instagrammable Hawaiian Aroma Caff e and Maui Brewing Co’s massive indoor bar, as well as sunrise yoga, “dive-in” movies by the pool and more. 2300 Kalakaua Ave., Honolulu
