“Growing up in the bikini capital of the world, recognizing that for us girls, it’s our second skin, I wanted to make bikinis that are flattering and fit well while keeping in mind the importance of a good tan,” says Jenah Yamamoto, founder of High Noon Swim (highnoonswim.com). Cuts are high, coverage is minimal, and get a good tan you can. The O‘ahu-born designer is an influencer herself, so after starting High Noon Swim in late 2022, it is no surprise that the pieces have been seen on the island’s hottest beach babes ever since. But for Yamamoto, her inspiration runs deeper. While Brazilian tiny-cut silhouettes have long been the island trend, High Noon Swim’s prints are what make a statement. “I want to focus on offering new meaningful prints that tell the stories of Hawai‘i and beyond,” says Yamamoto. “I am inspired by my Hawaiian culture as well as local Hawai‘i culture. I also draw inspiration from the beauty of women’s bodies and the many years spent around the ocean witnessing the trends come and go.” Standout colorways include a retro hibiscus print and the bestselling palaka pattern, a plaid popular in Hawai‘i since plantation days.
