THE PARTY In celebration of the contributions made by the late Sen. Inouye to both Bishop Museum and his support of Native Hawaiian culture and history, the historic cultural institution threw a lush, island-style fete. THE PLAYERS Bishop Museum CEO Blair Collis; First Hawaiian Bank CEO Walter Dods and his wife, Diane; Stanford and Kathy Carr; Councilman Stanley Chang; Daniel Akaka Jr.; Sen. Inouye’s wife, Irene Hirano Inouye THE HIGHLIGHTS Guests gathered and mingled over custom cocktails on the museum’s Great Lawn. Later, they indulged in a culinary adventure with bites created by some of Hawai‘i’s leading eateries, including Town, Alan Wong’s Amasia and Tangö Contemporary Café. With radio personality Kimo Kahoano as emcee, Hawaiian music was the featured entertainment of the evening, including crowd-pleasing performances from top island acts like Nathalie Ai Kamauu and 2013 Nā Hōkū Hanohano-winners Nā Hoa.
