THE PARTY
Venues in Honolulu don’t get much more spectacular than that legendary pink palace, The Royal Hawaiian. For the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Hawaii, the luxe property was the perfect spot for the Sweet 16 of its wildly popular gala.
THE PEOPLE
A crowd of 500 guests enjoyed sunset views on the famous Ocean Lawn facing Waikiki Beach. There were definitely beautiful people to be seen, including models Rhonee Rojas and Haylee Kam. Many thanks, of course, went to the fete’s organizing committee, which included Daniel Chun, Jason Kama, Ted Saihara, Kristin Seal and MDA Hawaii’s Executive Director Adrianna O’Donnell.
THE HIGHLIGHTS
Over 15 of Honolulu’s restaurants and beverage purveyors created a symphony of small bites and sips for the evening. Sheraton Waikiki Executive Sous Chef Colin Hazama’s Fish Out of Water, a tasty combination of ‘ahi and kampachi, especially impressed guests in the VIP section. Another notable was upcoming hot spot Sky Waikik and its chef, Lance Kosaka, who gave a sneak peak of its menu before its opening this summer. The culinary spread was the perfect prelude for the live auction in the Monarch Room. -Photos by Travis Okimoto
