Longtime Maui resident Christine Thomas was inspired by the pop-up picnic companies in Australia when she founded Maui Luxe Picnics (mauiluxepicnics.com) in 2019, one of the first luxury picnic companies to open in the United States. Her stunning setups take advantage of the Valley Isle’s amazing scenery to create memorable, picturesque picnics for clients in most all areas of Maui (with Hana taking additional planning). While weddings, proposals, and elopements are the most popular, Maui Luxe Picnics is available for all occasions. Thomas especially recommends pairing her services with her favorite vendors, Cveta from Embellish Maui, who provides romantic florals and botanical refreshments and chef Nicot from Hawaiian Chef’s Table, who whips up Italian, Japanese, and Greek cuisine. “The three of us really complement each other to create beautifully curated events,” she says.
