Mauna Kea Beach Hotel knows all about dining traditions and has been serving them up for generations. At Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, relax at Kauna‘oa Bay, play golf on Hawai‘i Island’s first golf course, take in the magnificent collection of art and artifacts, and more. A renovated retreat awaits at The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort, with four restaurants, including Meridia, the Kohala Coast’s newest fine dining restaurant, inspired by the Mediterranean and our island’s bounty. There is also the Hapuna Golf Course, the Hapuna Spa, a 6,800-square-foot free-form pool, an adults-only infinity pool and more. Mauna Kea Residences offers luxury two- to seven-bedroom suites, townhomes and private estates, all with a chef’s kitchen. If you become enamored with the Mauna Kea Community, as we suspect you may, you may want to learn about an annual club membership to The Club at Mauna Kea Resort, where members enjoy hotel and resort amenities year-round.

Mauna Kea Resort has always been devoted to sustainability as envisioned by original developer and conservationist Laurance S. Rockefeller, with efforts that include on-property apiaries, menus devoted to farm-to-table to support local businesses, energy and water conservation, and support of community non-profit organizations. This year, Mauna Kea Resort prioritized its community support during the pandemic by distributing weekly CARE packages more than 11,000 packages to date, the equivalent of 88,000 meals—to the Resort’s furloughed team members in need. Mauna Kea Resort Homeowners and Club members joined in to support CARE relief with more than $380,000 in donations to help with distribution costs of the packages. Mauna Kea Resort CARE packages use Big-Island-grown and raised products, supporting local farms and ranches. Recently, the resort has coordinated care packages with five other Kohala Coast Resort Association (KCRA) properties. CARE purchases of Big Island produce and meats are expected to reach nearly $500,000 in through the life of the distribution.
