Some of Honolulu’s hottest designers came to celebrate the launch of Mohala Eyewear, which was held at Herringbone.
THE PARTY For the launch of socially conscious and superglam lens brand Mohala Eyewear, a bevy of fashion folks, makers and influencers gathered at Herringbone for a feel-good afternoon soiree. Well-timed on the heels of #GivingTuesday, the event included a donation station where guests dropped off children’s books and were thanked with glasses of bubbly. THE GUESTS Mini avo toasts and kobe sliders circulated while guests sipped champagne and shopped Mohala’s inaugural line of stylish, modern sunglasses. Jewelry designers Emiko Miyazawa of M33Ms and Amber Chesebro of Salty Girl mingled and checked out the goods. THE HIGHLIGHTS Guests clapped and cheered as Mohala founder Ashley Johnson delivered a heartfelt speech about her passion for empowering girls through education. Johnson partnered with the nonprofit Room to Read Girls’ Education Program so that for every pair of lenses sold, a week of schooling is donated to a girl in a developing nation. Certainly, an honorable effort! -Margo Steines
