Kapalua Bay is full of ocean life, crystal clear water and breathtaking views.
When an escape from the ordinary is on the agenda, a few days at Montage Kapalua Bay is a must. Though I was going for a quick staycation, for those looking for a more permanent place to rest their head, this posh property recently debuted a limited collection of oceanfront real estate for sale (a three-bedroom oceanfront residence ranges from $2.7 to $3.8 million). So whether you’re vacationing or buying, seeking respite from the pressures of everyday life is easy—and encouraged.
In the newly released residences at Montage, more than 2,000 square feet of space allows residents and guests alike to feel the comforts of home while experiencing the exceptional amenities and superb service of a luxury resort. Think a tiered resort lagoon pool, four restaurants and a 40,000-square-foot spa, to name just a few. Plus, Montage Kapalua Bay is located in the heart of one of Hawai‘i’s largest nature preserves, therefore, living within Kapalua Resort affords you access to a variety of stunning beaches, two marine sanctuaries, hiking trails and two legendary championship golf courses.
What’s more, Montage Kapalua has recently named Eric Faivre as executive chef. Faivre—who has experience in restaurants in Switzerland, France, Belgium and beyond—works with local farmers and vendors to create enticing menus at on-property dining options that celebrate Hawaiian culture. That said, dinner at Cane & Canoe was one of the highlights of my trip. During a magical Maui sunset I enjoyed a Waipoli greens salad topped with the most amazing house-made truffle dressing; a roasted cauliflower steak featuring turmeric tofu puree and pistachio golden raisin gastrique; and a full-bodied Malbec. And I couldn’t resist dessert: the Trio of Chocolate and Spiced Malasadas, please. I was just living my best, healthy-ish life.
After an indulgent night, I was eager to head to Spa Montage to sweat it out the renovated fitness center. Though personal trainers are available—we’re talking highly experienced instructors who can help with everything from weight loss and toning to chronic pain, injury prevention and rehabilitation—I opted for a group wellness class.
Of course, these amenities, as well as access to a private lounge and exclusive services such as travel arrangements, valet parking, grocery stocking, catering, childcare, entertaining and event planning assistance, are available to owners. So when your desire for a Maui getaway comes a little too often, considering a permanent residence here at the resort is highly recommended.
