Zimmermann opens the doors to its first Hawai‘i boutique in the Ala Moana Center.

Australian label Zimmermann’s latest phase of American retail expansion has landed in Honolulu with its highly anticipated new boutique in the Ala Moana Center, bringing the label’s beloved fresh breath of sophisticated style and femininity to the islands.
“It’s very exciting to open our first store in Hawai‘i,” says co-founder and Creative Director Nicky Zimmermann. “As a young girl, Honolulu was the destination of my first overseas trip with my family, so it holds fond memories.”
In keeping with the vacation spirit of the island’s many visitors, the store design is light and easy with a hint of intrigue. Consciously, Zimmermann chose to reference local, midcentury modernist architect Vladimir Ossipoff’s use of screens to filter light throughout the design of the facade to personify this ongoing motif.
“Designing the store was a very organic process and really allowed us to embrace feelings of summer, and vacation—many qualities that are inherent to our brand,” she says. “We played with textures, colors and lighting to dream up an inviting and relaxed space for our guests.”
The striking boutique, designed by Studio McQualter, spans 3,026 square feet and is a physical embodiment of the Zimmermann brand: relaxed femininity and whimsy elegance. zimmermann.com
