Patisserie Tiny Pyramid Satisfies Honolulu's Sweet Tooth

A jewel at the edge of urban Honolulu, Tiny Pyramid immediately thrilled dessert aficionados when it opened amid the high-end purveyors of home decor and fixtures at Iwilei’s Na Lama Kukui center. The reason: It’s the new incarnation of now-shuttered JJ Bistro & French Pastry and its famed patissier, Praseuth “JJ” Luangkhot. JJ’s signature chocolate mousse pyramid still crowns the patisserie case, along with a miniaturized version (hence the eatery’s new name), and an updated fusion bistro menu tempts with offerings of escargots, pate chauds, quiches, curries, noodles and savory meats baked in puff pastry with indulgent sauces. But it’s Tiny Pyramid’s 16-foot dessert case, where Luangkhot’s impeccable tarts, glaces and cakes glitter like edible jewelry, that steals the show—and beckons any time you’re in the mood for some ooh la la! 560 N. Nimitz Highway, Iwilei, 739.0993
