THE PARTY As Ballet Hawaii stages some of the most sumptuous dance productions in Honolulu, it was only fitting when Tod’s, purveyor of those famously coveted shoes from Italy, hosted an in-store soiree to support the celebrated nonprofit. THE GUESTS Graciously serving as the hostess of the evening, Jackie Takeshita welcomed special attendees Bob and Frances Bean, Nancy Wo, Henry Akina, Susan Schull, Cheryl Pierce, and Klaus and Amy Meng. THE HIGHLIGHTS At the boutique’s entrance, young costumed dancers from Ballet Hawaii offered a fitting welcome to new arrivals. From there came glasses of prosecco as well as delicious hors d’ouevres prepared by chef Kevin Lee. It was all a perfect prelude to the shopping to come. Impressively, Tod’s did not only donate proceeds from that single evening, but a portion from that entire month as well. “Our gratitude goes to Tod’s for hosting such a lovely event while supporting ballet and the performing arts in the community,” says Gerry Allen, development director of Ballet Hawaii.
