The now world-famous street art festival POW! WOW! rings in a decade of graphic works with POW! WOW! The First Decade: From Hawaiʻi to the World, presented by Hawaiian Airlines. At the Bishop Museum showing, notable street artists and sculptors celebrate culture, artistic expression, contemporary art and native perspectives through their vibrant creations. Through Sept. 19, 1525 Bernice St., Honolulu
This collaborative mural by Sean “Hula” Yoro and Kamea Hadar is part of an installation that is meant to mimic an urban street, complete with bodega, tattoo parlor, record store, noodle shop and this pylon covered in graffiti art. Says Hawai‘i-born and -raised POW! WOW! founder Jasper Wong, “This street is completely covered in graffiti of every style. It is meant to show the origins of the art form and how it then evolved over the years.”
