THE PARTY The fab, first-time fête, presented by The Royal Hawaiian and the Hawai‘i affiliate of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, helped raise awareness and funds for the fight against breast cancer. THE PLAYERS The guest of honor was Dr. William Loui, the top local oncologist and passionate advocate for women’s and minority health care, who’s also spearheading the opening of a new transplant center. KITV’s Pamela Young and husband, Gary Sprinkle, were the night’s emcees, while Hawaii News Now’s Keahi Tucker conducted the live auction. Also in attendance were the members of Susan G. Komen foundation’s board of directors. THE HIGHLIGHTS Held in the historic Monarch Room, the sumptuous soirée of 300 guests was an elegant affair, featuring pink Champagne, a cocktail reception, dinner and silent and live auctions, with proceeds going toward the foundation.
