Roaring Good Time

| July 9, 2014 | Parties National

Undeniably, one of the major highlights of the O‘ahu spring social calendar was the Junior League of Honolulu’s Saturday luncheon held at the Sheraton Waikiki. And as this popular organization was celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, it certainly made sense to take inspiration from the glitzy, golden era of The Great Gatsby. (This, of course, explained the sight of hundreds of flapper girls in Waikīkī that morning.) As the Junior League has gained a noteworthy reputation of featuring top sacks for fundraising, there were stellar offerings from the likes of Fendi, CH Carolina Herrera and Jimmy Choo at the silent auction. All the bidding worked up appetites for the three-course lunch, which was followed by a runway show from Tori Richard. –Photos by Travis Okimoto
