Discover the perfect shave ice on Kaua'i.
A handcrafted frozen delight by The Fresh Shave

Shave ice on the islands is getting a gourmet spin. Find organic ingredients, unique twists and more at The Fresh Shave, where Priscilla and Daniel Soulé serve a version with no corn syrup or artificial colors. They even shave the ice using a manual Japanese ice carver. “We wanted a handcrafted product, from start to finish; it’s more of an art,” says Priscilla. The Fresh Shave’s menu highlights locally grown fruit, such as apple bananas from the Soulés’ own yard. The couple’s two sons are too young to wield a machete, but assist with other harvests, such as lychees and tangelos. “We use organic and South Shore produce as much as possible,” says Priscilla. Other Kaua‘i products such as honey are also incorporated into the flavors, which are named after mustache styles—think Handle Bar. The Fresh Shave has been tapped for events at The St. Regis Princeville Resort, as well as private functions like weddings. And Honolulu foodies, take note: After a second location in Long Beach, Calif., an O‘ahu outpost may be around the corner. 3540 Kōloa Road, Kalāheo, Kaua‘i, 631.2222
