Brazilian-born architect and interior designer Tatiana Dorow’s life took a turn when she bought six crystals—each weighing between 100 and 500 pounds—six months before moving to Kaua‘i. Her new island community shared her interest, and people soon began asking her to source crystals for them. She quickly amassed a world-class collection of 1,000 collector- and museum-grade minerals. The Dorow Collection is now housed in a 3,000-square-foot sleek gallery space that she designed on her sprawling property in Kapa‘a and is open for private tours. Dorow has channeled her design background to help clients and high-end designers source the perfect minerals for their luxury real estate projects, and her love of crystals has recently expanded to a line of statement jewelry. Here, the perennially chic designer shares with us her island must-haves.
