Born and raised in Honolulu, Keari Shibuya grew up canoe paddling, surfing and going to the beach. “I was drawn to bikinis and collecting different styles of swimwear,” she says. “I have been inspired by fashion, and specifically swimwear, ever since I can remember.” After earning a BS in environmental sciences and working in environmental consulting, she decided to merge her obsession with swimwear, her creative skill set and her passion for the environment by founding Those Seen Dancing (thoseseendancing.com), a refreshing take on classic Brazilian swimwear silhouettes created with versatile fabrics in a gorgeous array of colorful prints.
