Jen and Murray’s dream beach wedding in Maui was years in the making but well worth the wait. The couple first crossed paths during a corporate graduate program in Sydney, where a budding office romance blossomed into plans for forever. Murray pulled out all the stops with a breathtaking proposal in Lapland under the shimmering Northern Lights.
THE DETAILS
The Montage in Kapalua captured their hearts. “From the moment we walked in, we just knew it was the one,” the bride reminisced. They enlisted Maui’s wedding planner, Lorrie Nielson, who collaborated seamlessly to bring their elegant English garden vision to life with classic white and cream decor. The day was filled with personalized touches, including Jen’s mother’s cherished jewelry, which served as her “something borrowed.” Their vows incorporated an exchange of symbolic “vowel” Scrabble tiles and a whimsical pun for the wedding hashtag “jenngetsmurrayed.”
THE PARTY
From the lush floral-lined aisle to the locally sourced Hawaiian cuisine, every detail exuded refined island luxury. “We also incorporated Hawaiian traditions such as the conch shell, Hawaiian chant, lei exchange and Hawaiian dance performances,” says the bride. Yet a small moment made the night truly magical—a breathtaking first dance surrounded by loved ones and sparkling lights.
