To celebrate its debut in the islands, Saks Fifth Avenue hosted an elegant private luncheon at the Moana Surfrider’s airy Veranda at the Beachhouse.
THE PARTY Venerable retailer Saks Fifth Avenue has just opened its first ever full-line luxury department store in the state of Hawai‘i at the iconic and reimagined International Market Place in the heart of Waikīkī. During an intimate luncheon held at the historic Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa, the store’s vice president and general manager, Shelley Tadaki Cramer, mixed and mingled with some of Honolulu’s most fashionable ladies. The gathering was also the perfect way to introduce the store’s partnership with the well-respected Honolulu Museum of Art.
THE GUESTS Attendees included many high-profile women in the business and philanthropic community, including Kitty Wo, Lori Harrison, Sharon Shiroma Brown, Lori Feldman, Diane Dods and Claire Johnson. Guests enjoyed a variety of salads and thumbed through the Saks Fifth Avenue catalog to get the scoop on the latest looks from leading European and American designers. Sounds like the perfect ladies lunch to us! –Kathryn Drury Wagner; photos by Travis Okimoto
