Fate brought these two together at a California community college where they first locked eyes in math class. After years spent pursuing their dream educations at UC Berkeley, the lovebirds found themselves drawn to the lush, tropical embrace of Hawai‘i. While living on the island of O‘ahu, they decided to tie the knot in an intimate, elegant affair.
THE DETAILS
The bride walked down the aisle to an instrumental blend of “Lover” by Taylor Swift and Canon in D Major, which was her parents wedding song. As any long-time Swiftie would do, every detail was carefully curated, from the handheld fans engraved with their wedding date to the lush florals that included delicate mini white phalaenopsis orchids—a nod to Jessica’s grandparents. While the décor set a romanic scene, it was the gathering of just 30 beloved friends and family that made the wedding day unforgettable. The couple even switched the “sides” of the aisles so they could view their own parents, family and friends during the ceremony.
THE PARTY
From the poke passed during cocktail hour to the cutting of their lilikoi cake, each bite was filled with tropical bliss. The evening came to a close with a private last dance, before newlyweds jetted off for their honeymoon in Indonesia. “We are avid scuba divers, a hobby we picked up in Hawai‘i, and we enjoyed amazing diving together on a luxury cruise.”
