Guests of the evening soiree
The fine wines got conversations going.
THE PARTY At one of downtown’s latest culinary bastions, CafĂ© Julia, supporters new and old of Aloha United Way kicked off its Alexis de Tocqueville Society, which brings together the organization’s most generous donors. Especially for the soiree, Central Pacific Bank CEO and AUW-supporter John Dean provided wines from his personal collection. And to complement the stellar assortment, chef Lance Kosaka created a menu of exquisite bites. THE PLAYERS CPB CEO Dean, Kim Gennaula, Blenn Fujimoto, Mitch D’Olier, Crystal Rose, Duane Kurisu, Janet Liang, Jeff Arce, Aine Kaahui, Kent Tsukamoto, Paul Kosasa, “Bub” Wo THE HIGHLIGHTS By far, the amazing wines were the stars of the evening. (No wonder it was a full house!) Bringing his best over to the island, Dean actually hand-carried some of his favorite vintages, including stunning selections from Bond Winery in Napa Valley. Of course, the sips set the mood for a jovial, friendly atmosphere where guests lingered long after. Photography by Jonas Maon
